New commercial vehicle showroom for family business
The team at York Van Centre recognised that land opposite their current site had the potential to help them expand their business with a purpose-built showroom. The double-height display area faces the road and new customer car park, maximising visibility of the site. To minimise noise from the adjacent railway line, the offices have internal windows into the double height display area and roof-lights at first floor level instead of external windows. A mezzanine level provides space for staff facilities and a boardroom.
About our client
York Van Centre has been providing commercial vehicles to customers throughout North Yorkshire since 1991. They are an award winning, family-run business and are York’s Isuzu main dealer for new and used Isuzu pickup trucks.
Our role
Our clients asked us to design a new building incorporating new vehicle display areas that would meet Isuzu’s brand guidelines and new offices for their business. We secured full planning consent in March 2023 shortly followed by a full set of building regulation drawings.
