The refurbishment and extension of a red-brick, 1940s detached family home on a residential street in Holgate, York.

Vincent & Partners were appointed to explore the potential of a tired and dated suburban property, to optimise the space and create a more contemporary and functional family home.

The new fa├žade delivers real kerb-appeal with the addition of a rosemary tile porch roof, contemporary rendered finish and covered doorway. To the side elevation the formerly redundant integral garage is transformed into a modern home-gym.

At the rear, a clean-lined modern extension with pitched glazed-roof and a trio of double-doors, provides views and direct access to the enclosed rear gardens. The additional ground level floor-space transforms the layout and functionality of the property, to provide flexible, open-plan living space, more conducive with modern family life.

Vincent and Brown submitted an application for planning consent in July 2017 and oversaw the complete refurbishment and extension of the property. The team coordinated all external consultants and contractors to deliver the scheme for a private client.
