Beverley Court
Residential redevelopment of a landmark building
Beverley Court is a 21-home luxury residential development in York. The project includes the conservation and redevelopment of Beverley House, a grand Victorian villa previously used as offices for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. Three contemporary new buildings complete the scheme around a courtyard garden.
About our client
Inglehurst Property was established in 2015 by Matt Newton, following his career in structural engineering. The company focuses on residential developments, particular the conversion of historical properties into modern homes in York and surrounding areas. Their goal is to create residential developments that blend modern amenities with heritage.
Our role
We developed a plan in close collaboration with Inglehurst Property to rejuvenate and revitalise the Beverley House site. It had been lying vacant for years and we obtained planning approval in 2023 and then provided full architectural services and on-going support on site to completion.
Sharing a vision
Inglehurst Property shares our passion for creating quality spaces. At Beverley House substandard and unsympathetic extensions were removed and original features have been restored. The new buildings nestle unobtrusively within the grounds and reference the architectural style of the main house. The new landscaped courtyard creates a communal centre for the development, encouraging a sense of community and inclusivity for the new residents.
