Newbuild later living apartment building forming part of Stevenage’s masterplan
This development forms part of the East of Stevenage Masterplan and comprises 64 assisted living apartments with landscaped private gardens, car parking and communal facilities including, a hairdressers, communal kitchen, dining area, staff areas and buggy stores. We are working closely with the client and contractors on technical design to progress works on site.
About our client
Gresley park is being developed by Anchor Hanover Group, England's largest provider of specialist housing and care for people in later life, offering care homes, retirement villages and other types of retirement housing. Main contractor is HG Construction, a forward-thinking design and build partner with exceptional internal delivery capabilities.
Our role
We are providing full architectural services for RIBA stages 4 to 7 under a design and build contract to deliver this project with a construction value of around £18 million from initial designs by Tooley Foster.

As architects designing later living, retirement and specialist care developments, we ensure special consideration is given to appropriate, functional and comfortable spaces for residents. Later living projects can also be complex and they provide an opportunity to apply all our skills and expertise. For examples, attention to detail is critical in terms of fire strategy, part M access to and use of building and to product specification, right down to the type of door closer installed to a room or apartment. This detailed consideration of end users is something our clients value.
