The Steadings

Ten sensitively designed new homes in a picturesque village

This is a development of new houses in a rural setting on the site of a former paddock. The houses have been sensitively designed to blend naturally with the existing village aesthetic.  Mixture of natural stone and brick exteriors with mature boundaries and stone walls integrate the properties with the existing homes on Chapel Lane.

About our client
Palladian Homes specialise in exclusive residential developments in north and east Yorkshire. They have a reputation for striking but sensitive design, first-class quality, and enduring style. The company has grown from renovation and rejuvenation of tired period properties to creating developments of individually designed new build homes.

Our role
Palladian is a repeat client. Like most housebuilders, they want to optimise density on a site. In this project, we advised them to reduce the number of units in order to simplify the planning process, increase the size of each property, make them more suitable to their setting and therefore maximise value.

Helping clients to do what they do well
As with other housebuilders, we provide tailored advice and get involved only where needed. They take on our advice because they recognise our skills, experience and expertise there to help them to do what they do well. But we also question our clients. We lead where necessary. Where there are points of contention, we are able to put forward arguments and negotiate on points where we feel strongly.
