World Earth Day 2026

Today, Vincent & Partners celebrates Earth Day 2026 – an opportunity to reflect on our approach to sustainable projects which benefit future generations and assist in reducing our impact on the planet.

The theme for this year, ‘Our Planet, Our People’, inspires us to reflect on projects within the practice which have made a positive impact on people and reduced impact on the environment.

Our retrofit scheme at Oak Farm, located within the York Greenbelt, is one example of our sustainable work. The scheme favours a fabric first approach to preserve the historic farm heritage as well as achieving the client’s sustainability goals.

Natural low carbon materials have been used where the building has been extended to reflect the neighbouring Hagg Wood community woodland. A central planted courtyard features an Olive Tree to connect the internal massing to the surrounding woodland and greenbelt landscape.

Our collaboration with Green Building Renewables allowed us to incorporate green initiatives such as ground source heat pump & solar PVs into the scheme, to reduce the schemes operational carbon footprint.

As a practice who thinks it is important to implement sustainable practice into our everyday working environment, it is our goal to develop a Carbon Reduction Plan to continue to develop sustainable working strategies.
