Trinity Houses

The conversion of Trinity Hall transformed a highly constrained and historically sensitive site within the Harrogate Conservation Area into two high-quality homes, designed to accommodate the later living market. The project overcame significant aesthetic, technical and heritage challenges to deliver two exceptional and unique homes. The bespoke dwellings were carefully inserted between, and adjoining, adjacent listed buildings, requiring a highly considered approach to design and construction.

The retention of the existing ground floor façade effectively landlocked the site, creating complex access and logistical challenges. The design successfully balances contemporary architecture with a deep respect for the historic context of the site, high sustainability credentials and accessibility. Through extensive consultation with the conservation officer, the scheme evolved into a truly bespoke development that is clearly legible as a modern intervention while responding sympathetically to the neighbouring listed buildings and wider conservation area.
