Originally briefed by our client to be an extension of their existing home, initial feasibility works determined that the existing plot would not lend itself to further development. Intrinsic limitations of the original layout, including unsuitability of the existing foundations along with poor ground conditions, determined that a new build plot was the best route forward.
Vincent & Partners worked collaboratively with the client to develop their brief and create a clear vision of the domestic environment they were hoping to achieve. Our team’s adaptable approach ensured the design and construction aligned with their budget and timeline. Built in a traditional style with sympathetic materials including York’s imitable red brick, the resulting property blends seamless into its environment.
The design was conceived to offer flexibility in living and enhance wellbeing, with a formal lounge, study, and open plan living area. The selection of materials was kept to a minimum so the environment would be streamlined and uncluttered. A neutral colour palette was simplified to enhance the size and fluidity of the space. High quality finishes including marble floors, hi-gloss kitchen units and contemporary bathrooms, allow light to be reflected throughout the property, further enhancing the sense of space. Bi-fold doors allow ease of access to the landscaped rear gardens and four generous double bedrooms, with a luxurious master en-suite, complete the space.
The Vincent & Partners team submitted an application for planning consent in August 2018 and undertook stage 4 services following planning approval.
