The day kicked off with a long Italian lunch at Circolo Popolare before we moved on to the pub for Annie’s quiz, which tested us on general knowledge, architecture and her home country of New Zealand!

The highlight though was the model-making round, recreating the Sydney Opera House using only pipe cleaners and Post-it notes. What followed can only be described as “creative interpretation.” Some entries had the iconic sails, some looked more like a startled hedgehog, and at least one may have had more similarities to a flattened sandwich. Jørn Utzon’s legacy is safe, but it was a timely reminder that the right materials matter as much as the vision!

It was a great chance to step away from our desks, catch up with the London team and spend some proper time together. Thank you, Annie, for organising such a brilliant day!
