Chelsea Barracks - Retrospective

Following our milestone appointment as Delivery Architect for Block 7 at Chelsea Barracks by Ant Yapi for Qatari Diar, we've been reflecting on where our journey at Chelsea Barracks first began.

Our initial involvement was providing architectural services from Stage 4 for the on-site Marketing Suite as Executive Architect, working closely with Squire & Partners. Designed to showcase the everyday luxury of these prime residential apartments, the suite was fully fitted out to demonstrate the lifestyle offered by a two-bedroom residence. High-specification finishes, intricate detailing and state-of-the-art features were integrated throughout, highlighting the exceptional craftsmanship synonymous with the development.

Delivered using modular construction methods, the project provided an opportunity to apply our technical expertise to achieve the desired level of quality and precision. The Marketing Suite also marked our first introduction to Chris, now a Director at V&P London, who was then leading the Squire & Partners team responsible for the site's masterplan.

A few years later, Qatari Diar invited us to revisit the project and transform the Marketing Suite into four apartments and two retail units for sale and lease. By adding an additional storey and working within the constraints of the existing modular structure, we delivered contemporary apartments that responded sensitively and elegantly to the building below.

Throughout the project, our technical and design teams worked closely together providing both architectural and CMT services to the main contractor and client respectively, ensuring seamless integration of creative design and technical solutions.
